Why we're drinking this
The Mâcon region of Burgundy is a go-to for good value Chardonnays and this one is the top of the heap (for this vintage, anyway) of what we’ve seen at the LCBO recently. This is the land of good cheap Burgundy, not the blockbuster (and wallet-busters) of up north a ways. Mâcons are best drunk young and fresh, when they reveal primary fresh fruit and nice acidity, maybe a little vanilla or oak spice. This is a real beauty from Bouchard, a wonderful vintage worth filling your cellar or fridge with to get through the holidays. It’ll be great with all kinds of holiday feasts and snacks.

Tasting note
Very pretty, fresh fruit nose leads your palate to flavours of fresh apple, pear, melon and a hint of banana and mango. Supple and fleshy for such a low-alcohol wine, with nice acidic structure to balance things out. It’s refreshing and inviting, finishing nice and dry with a kiss of vanilla. Quite possibly the top Macon we’ve tasted for a long while.
