Why we're drinking this
This wine is a consistent value play even at full price, and you’ll see it on many wine critics lists of best cheap wines. No shame in that. This is unbelievable value at under $10. It actually has character, which is almost unheard of for Pinot Noir at this price. Sure, it’s no Burgundy, but it hits the right notes. More importantly, it’s better than a lot of plonk — you know, the usual suspects — in the $15 to $20 range. Way to go, Chile!

Tasting note
Remarkably perfumed with black and red berries, and a rather generous aroma of pine/cedar. It’s not oaky, though. Just a touch of damp earthiness to give it some complexity, but mostly this is a lovely fruity little number. Bright acidity keeps it refreshing. A straight up, precise wine. Really nice for sipping, but also good with elementary foods. Tip: A great, great wine for a beef Bourguignon or other beef stew recipe. Use a whole bottle.
