Why we're drinking this
Consistently good quality is what Lindeman’s is all about, but some previous vintages have been overblown with too much oak and vanilla. Not anymore. One of Australia’s largest wine producers has toned things down. The alcohol is a respectably restrained 13.5% and though the residual sugar is a touch high at 7 grams/litre, making it a little sweet, it’s still a well-balanced and thoroughly drinkable wine. A superb deal.
Straightforward fresh fruit and tropical notes. It leads with apple and pineapple, gives way to lemon, mango and banana, and finishes with a hint of vanilla and some thyme- pine. It’s well balanced, mid-weight, round and soft, and fresh. A nice clean wine for any summer occasion, but keep it well chilled. Ice bucket recommended.
