A full-bodied and supple wine, packed with blue and black berries, cedar, pencil lead, and spice. Soft and very appealing, with perfectly ripe tannins. A gorgeous, unforgettable wine.

A fruity wine with solid structure and good tannins, makes this an ideal match for serious steak, rosemary braised lamb, or blue cheeses like Gorgonzola or Stilton. A mushroom burger would be a good call, too!
Why we're drinking this
Small in the best sense of the word, Calamus offers some of the best historic charm in the Niagara region. A Beamsville staple for over 20 years, with 2 vineyards and 3 acres dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Calamus is committed to supporting local businesses, growers, charities, and more. The wines they produce are charming and elegant — honest wines with character and finesse. Named after the Latin word for arrow, their emblematic Calamus archer is fondly called Calvin: "Cal" for Calamus and "vin" for wine!
Flavours of dark berries, ripe plum, spice, vanilla, and pencil lead dance on a velvety texture. The finish is long and fruity. Drinking very well now, but will improve and evolve through 2023.
