The name of the beautiful Margo comes from the French word meaning ‘pearl’. Some pearls, like those from freshwater bivalves, often carry the faintest wash of rose-coloured transparency. Cool fermentation assured that the fresh aromatics and lively fruit characteristics were preserved. This wine offers more of a strawberry character; juicy with good acidity. The Riesling in the wine provides the sweetness and the citrus taste.
This is a great wine to drink around a bonfire with friends and family, at the dinner table with Thanksgiving leftovers, and with poultry or hard cheeses.
Post-Thanksgiving leftovers and pre-Halloween ghoulishness. Perfect for those unseasonably warm fall evenings, impromptu frolicking, cool weather sipping, or full-on dinner partying.
Why we're drinking this
The “Best Performing Small Winery of the Year” at the 2018 National Wine Awards in Canada, the Two Sisters Winery is owned by two sisters, Angela Moratta and Melissa Marotta-Paolicelli. They strive for quality at every turn and it shows in the wines. Winemaker Adam Pearce is a graduate of Niagara College and has made award-winning wines in Ontario and the Okanagan, where he received the British Columbia Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Winemaking Excellence. One of his wines was named a “favourite Canadian wine” by U.K. critic Jancis Robinson. Rosé is the perfect transitional wine. Many people overlook just how well-matched certain rosés are for enjoying during the fall months, as temperatures drop and the chill of winter looms. If you think rosé is just for quenching summer thirst, think again, this wine is fantastic to drink while the leaves start to tumble down.
This is a complex rosé with a bit of fizz. Carefully crafted, producing aromas of garden-fresh red berries, accentuated by tart lime zest and rhubarb on the palate. Meticulously balancing the best characteristics of intense fruit-forward reds with aromatic and perfumed whites. Boasts a notorious, mouth-watering dry finish, leaving the palate refreshed and wanting more. A subtle, dry rosé with nuanced balance and unexpected staying power.
