Why we're drinking this
The Rioja region of Northern Spain, along the Ebro River, is legendary, a wine of kings and conquerors and… the rest of us. It’s known for its deep, rich, full-bodied character, the result of some time spent in wood, a.k.a. the oak barrels that give it distinct tones of sweet spice, vanilla and cedar. This is a good example, well-priced and fun to have around, and a wallet-friendly way to get to know Spain’s Tempranillo grape. Impress your friends by showing off your international palate!

Tasting note
If you like a fuller wine—that is, with rich, ripe berry fruit and noticeable wood notes from the oak barrels—this is for you. It’s very easy to drink. You might think it’s sweet, but it isn’t—that’s just the ripe fruit talking. Red and black berries, a touch of dried herbs, and some vanilla and mocha. I mean, doesn’t that sound great?
