Why we're drinking this
This is a nice polite lighter white wine for freshening up the palate on a hot day. Note that most wine snobs poo-poo Pinot Grigio as lightweight, insipid wine designed for people who don’t really like wine. This may be true in some cases, as Pinot Grigio has become pretty much the de facto house wine at many a cheap sub-grade trattoria. But when it’s done well, it can offer just the right note of fresh fruit, lifted acidity and crisp finish that’s just right for the great Canadian outdoors (in summer).

Tasting note
Dry and crisp, with medium aromatics of green apple, a hint of lemon, and notes of fresh herbs. Very dry finish, a bit short, but nicely balanced and fruity fresh. This is wine that plays a solid supporting role to the joys of summer—pour it with any little finger foods and salty snacks, or substantial fare of seafood in cream sauce, grilled shrimp or a plate of cold BBQ chicken.
