Why we're drinking this
A nice light rosé is a welcome distraction any time of the day (though you have to be careful). Henry of Pelham’s 2016 rosé is fresh, light and delicious. It’s made from a veritable salad of Niagara Peninsula-sourced grapes: Pinot Noir, Cab Sauv, Gamay, Zweigelt, Merlot and Cab Franc. Serious grapes in a fun and easy wine, though you might think about cellaring for a year or two, just for fun.

Tasting note
Pretty aromas of cherry, strawberry, cranberry and orange peel tease a lovely attack in the mouth that is both bracing and yielding, delivering bright red berry fruit and citrus that is refreshing and super-tasty. Even though this is a fairly light wine (at 11.5% alcohol), it has some roundness in the mouth and it quite over-delivers on complexity. That fruit gives way to an intriguing savoury finish that makes the wine even more of a match with lots of different food items. Chill it, but don’t kill it (that is, not too cold, please!)
