Why we're drinking this
Zinfandel is a wine that has a strong fan base, so much so that there is even an annual festival in Lodi dedicated to this fun-loving grape, called ZinFest. Not to be confused with white Zin, this is a seriously delicious full-out red. With flavour to spare, it’s a fully hedonistic wine that doesn’t take too much concentration or background to appreciate. So, grab a glass, pull up a chair and put on some good music, cause the party’s just starting!
This is a textbook Zinfandel, that shows off all the best qualities of the grape. A full out decadent nose oozing with baked berries, strawberry jam, sweet spices, vanilla and burnt sugar. Medium bodied with fresh and juicy acidity and very smooth and supple tannins. Jam packed full of fruit on the palate, with hints of smoke, vanilla, toasted coconut, clove and nutmeg. Best for when you’re kicking back, enjoying life with good company. Drink now or can hold for the next year or two. Pair it with sweet and spicy BBQ ribs or a good old-fashioned burger.
