National Drink Wine Day!
Monday, February 18th marks National Drink Wine Day, one of our favourite days of the year. While the argument can be made that every day is 'drink wine day' here at kwäf, today is an extra special celebration. We love all things wine, so it goes without saying, save water and drink wine!
We are certain you need no further instruction on how to enjoy a glass of Ontario’s finest wine. To help mark this occasion, we want to help you in the pairing department. Check out this easy recipe for Steak with Horseradish Marinade from All Fired up:
4 Steaks (1 inch/2.5 cm thick) 4
2 tbsp red wine vinegar 25ml
4 tbsp each: horseradish and canola oil 20mL
1 clove garlic, crushed 1
½ tsp each: dried thyme and hot pepper sauce 2 mL
- For marinade: In a small bowl, combine vinegar, horseradish, oil, garlic, thyme, and hot sauce. Trim excess fat from steak and discard. Place in resealable plastic bag; pour marinade over steak and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 12 hours or up to 24, turn steaks occasionally.
- Remove steak from marinade and discard marinade. Preheat the oven or grill to 350 degrees. Place steak on an oiled pan or grill. Close lid and cook. Turn once.
Serve with your favourite side.
Makes 4 servings.
