Why we're drinking thisThe grape is Gamay, the winery is Malivoire, and the winemaker is Shiraz Mottiar. Given that his name alludes to an entirely different grape, Shiraz (the man) is a Gamay fanatic. He makes multiple versions of Gamay at Malivoire using grapes from different vineyards. And we love them all. But this one, from the Courtney vineyard, stands out with mind-blowing complexity and finesse, while retaining that characteristic Gamay “lightness” that we love. Tasting noteBright and generous dark berry fruit with subtle herbal notes, some wild forest notes, and a lovely smoky finish. Lighter in style, with only 13% alcohol, but there’s nuance and complexity here. You might just call it delicious.
