  Why we're drinking this

  We found a gem in the Georgian Bay region, which is best known for their slopes and weekend getaways, but also home to Georgian Hills and their Wild & Inspired series. With a commitment to making exceptional natural wild-ferment wines from grapes grown and hand harvested at select vineyard sites in the Niagara Peninsula region, Georgian Hills is at the forefront of Niagara wine. The Wild & Inspired series lead by Chief Wine Advisor Thomas Bachelder (the Canadian ‘terroir gypsy’), is grown on select inspired grape growing sites to ensure optimum grape ripeness. In conjunction with Georgian Hills winemaker Vanessa McKean and in the Wismer Vineyards of Grower Craig Wismer, Thomas and the team have created incredible wild-fermented wines. In our opinion, a good Pinot Noir is all about texture — well, that and delicious cran-cherry fruit with some underlying earthiness — and our new friends at Georgian Hills have created the perfect Pinot Noir for this season. We agree with wine critic David Lawrason, that this Pinot Noir is, “nicely focused with excellent length.” You’ll find this to be a light-bodied wine with a velvety texture, creating a lasting impression.
  
  Tasting note   

• Bright, ruby-cherry colour with the slightest hint of brick at the rim, and aromas of sun-dried cherries, blackberries, and raspberries. Dense, warm, dark fruit, gripping texture with a hint of char on the finish make for a wonderfully soft and juicy attack that is just pure Pinot. The Georgian Hills Pinot Noir is balanced, bright, and juicy, with a pure expression that feels wild and a finish that is long, smooth, and fruity.
