Why we're drinking thisBased in the heart of the diverse and world-class Sonoma County region in northern California, Lake Sonoma Winery was founded in 1977. The property was recently purchased by the Stewart family, of Quails’ Gate fame in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. The focus for Lake Sonoma is on varietal wines sourced from the premium sub-zones best suited to those grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon from the Alexander Valley, Zinfandel from the Dry Creek Valley, Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley and Sauvignon Blanc from the Sonoma Valley. The wines are complex, elegant and supremely structured offering a wonderful and delicious look into Sonoma’s distinctive sub-zones and the quality wines that they produce.
Tasting NoteThis robust wine is an excellent example of what makes a Dry Creek Valley Zin so drinkable, Cinnamon stick, nutmeg and clove aromas intermingle with rose petal and a hint of black pepper.
