  Why we're drinking this
  Based in eastern Washington State’s Columbia Valley, Whispering Tree focuses on approachable, rich, fruit-driven varietal wines that over deliver in all respects. Grapes are sourced primarily from the Wahluke Slope AVA, widely considered one the state’s finest as well as warmest sub-zones. The resulting wines are full-bodied, intensely flavoured and loaded with fruit. Whispering Tree’s plantings include Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Known also as Shiraz, Syrah is originally a French grape now grown and vinified throughout the world in different styles. Profiles range from mid-weight with red fruits, liberal amounts of white pepper and smoked meat (think France) to full-bodied, jammy, fruit driven and hedonistic (think Australia). Whispering Tree’s version falls deliciously in between. Grapes arrive at the winery from south-east facing slopes from the Clifton and Katherine Leone vineyards in the Wahluke Slope AVA. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in oak for 6 months.

  Tasting note
  Aromas of ripe blueberry, boysenberry jam, savoury dried herbs and lavender. Mid-weight with a rich, silky texture framed by ripe, dusty tannins. The palate adds complex notes of spicy white pepper, fragrant clove and smoky bacon fat that lingers on and on…
